Welcome to the Saturday Morning Chat Group!

Welcome to the Saturday Morning Chat Group.

Special Announcement! Today I want to let you all know about a new blog that has been created by Becky at 'Lady In Waiting Blog Design' to help families who are adopting showcase things that they are selling to raise money for their adoption. It is located at www.adoptionfundraisers.blogspot.com, and the blog is called 'Touching Lives One At A Time'. There is a link on my sidebar and I would be happy to give it to you today if you would like it. Please support these families, and if you are selling something to raise money for your child, please let Becky know and she will add you to the blog.

Thank You Juliette!

Juliette, I hope you got my messages that your box came today. Thank you so much for everything. I had forgotten that Amanda had asked for sunscreen, so thank you for sending some. I just love those little suede boots...too cute!

Thank You Rachael!

Thank you Rachael for your very generous donation to the Starfish Postage Fund. I told my husband that you must have given up on waiting for him to get the paypal on the blog and just sent a check. He now promises again that he will get it on this weekend : ). Rachael's blog is 'Always Wanted Four'.

I am Amazed...

I have been wanting to tell all of you just how amazed I am by this whole Starfish experience. When I started thinking about doing this, I thought that maybe 12-15 families would join in. As of today there are 41. I have received e-mails and comments from so many people who want to help. Many of which are not regular visitors to my blog. The boxes just keep coming and I love opening each one. Your cards and notes are very inspiring to me. Thank you so much. I'm going to do a post of packing day so that you can see all of the donations that have come in. Our bedroom is filled with donations! I cannot get to the bottom four drawers of my dresser, it is blocked by all of the children's clothing waiting to go to China.
Whenever I have been involved in anything through this blog or others and someone is in need, you always rise to the occasion and get them what they need. With Starfish, I thought we could gather some needed winter items and get them over there to help with the storm relief. Now because of the response, I think we will be able to provide them with enough clothing to carry them through next year.
I have never seen such caring and generosity.

Thank You Denise!

Thank You So Much Denise! I couldn't fit the coats onto my little quilt that I've been using when I've been taking the photos of the clothes that have been coming in. You can see the top of it. I was so happy to see these 4 baby coats. I know that Amanda is needing them the winter being so harsh this year. The little girl outfits are just dartling too. And I want to especially thank you for your card and book. They will be treasured. Denise's blog is 'Tucked Inside My Heart'

Thank You Gail!

Thank you so much Gail for your card that blessed my heart, the gift inside of it that will bless Starfish and the shoes and hair bows that will be just darling on my Sophia. You are a wonderful friend. Gail's blog is 'Aging with Grace'.

Thank You Paula!

Thank you Paula for the sleeper and onesies for Starfish. Sorry I didn't post this with your postage fund donation. I must not have tied the two together!

Tyler and Tennis...

This is Tyler and his tennis coach.

My camera doesn't take very good action shots and these two are through a sheet of glass.

I like this one even though it's fuzzy. Tyler played in a tournament last Saturday and did really well. He has been taking lessons for about a year now and I think he may have found his sport.

Thank You To Everyone Who Sent Bows!

Thank you so much to everyone who sent these special bows! I think I can say that Nancy's bow swap was a huge success. I am so happy with all of the bows that I received for Sophia. Thank you so much. She is going to look so cute in all of them. Look, there is even one that has her name on it!

For Tracey... 7 Things....

I've been tagged by Tracey for the Seven Things meme. Here's what it's about ...

Seven Things...
Here's what I need to do: list 7 random things about me that many of you out in blogland may not know. The rules say I must link the person (or people) who sent this to me and leave a comment on their blog(s) so their readers can visit me. The rules have to be posted on my blog (that's why I'm writing this).

RULES: Share 7 facts about yourself. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, linking their blog. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

OK- in no particular order, here are 7 things about me that you might not know:

1) My secret dream is to own my own greenhouse or flower shop. Not a big one, but a wonderful one.

2) I will never tell my children that there isn't a Santa Claus.

3) I have a pet water frog on my desk at work. His name is Deedstown.

4) I love Def Leppard.

5) I love shoes. I wear very strappy heels in the summer (with a pedicure of course) and fun ones in the winter.

6) I am awful at math.

7) I am actively working behind the scenes and in front of them to get my son to spend more time with a girl who I really like and whose family I really like....yes, I'm one of those Moms.

What Inspires You?

I am drawn to doers and healers and lovers, the vulnerable and the strong equally if they can put their hearts out there. Free spirits...I love free spirits. Nature is always giving me something to think about, the seasons, the balance in the world. Women in general I find very inspiring...mothers, wives, sisters, friends...the way that we hold families, friends and dreams together. It is our way. We are healers and lovers. We carry the dreams of ourselves and those we love in our hearts and do everything we can to make them come true.

Share with us what inspires you...

My songs don't autoplay anymore, but please click play on the e-snips on the right. It's one of my favorites and I think you will enjoy it this Sunday.
